Luke 18: 9-17
To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men – robbers, evildoers, adulterers – or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you: wherever he may send you;
may he guide you through the wilderness: protect you from the storm;
may he bring you home rejoicing: at the wonders he has shown you;
may he bring you home rejoicing: once again into our doors.

What a beautiful place to be in this morning’s picture, Kathi. Two beautiful songs that were unfamiliar to me filled with good news.
‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

Couldn’t link to the 2nd video. I’m playing Healer by Kari Jobe. Is that the same song? Thank you for the links … Praying for “all” as we glorify the precious Lord and Saviour.

Hmmm…strange. Is anyone else having this issue with the second song? I clicked on the play button right on the blog and it plays. The song is by Holly Ann. I’m not sure if it’s the same song as the Kari Jobe one.

I tried it, Kathi, and it worked for me. BTW, I don’t know where you find such great music. I get bored with the repetition on my local Christian radio station. I love what you bring here. Thank you!!

Maybe the Youtube song wouldn’t play because I’m in Canada, eh?? 🙂
I’ve had this happen to me before. I still enjoyed the song(s).

Sorry guys. I’m still around, but have been emotionally spent after saying good-bye to my daughter today (back to college) and working on a post that has me so livid, I can’t think straight. Hopefully post tomorrow!

Awww…saying good bye is rough. Now that I have one old enough to go off to college I can understand how my mom must have felt saying good bye when I went to school from Illinois to California. Even though mine’s only going and hour and a half away, I know our home will be different.
