Some of you may know I’m a choir nerd (vocalist and accompanist). My 22-yr old son and I had the opportunity to see these selections performed live. Wow. It was a great way to spend a Sunday! Maybe some other choir nerd will enjoy this, too.
Mass in G Minor, Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958)
Sanctus
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus,
Dominus Deus Sabaoth.
Pleni sunt coeli et terra gloria tua.
Osanna in excelsis.
Translation:
Holy, Holy, Holy,
Lord God of Hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory.
Hosanna in the highest.

Benedictus

in nomine Domini.

in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Agnus Dei,
qui tollis peccata mundi,
miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei.
Dona nobis pacem.

Who takest away the sins of the world,

I knew it! I just knew you were a nerd! heehee…couldn’t resist. Anyway, I loved it…brings peace and a calmness as you keep listening and get kind of “lost” in it. thanks for sharing.

I’m most definitely a choir nerd. I’d wear that shirt proudly if I had one. 🙂
What a marvelous thing to be able to use your human voice as an instrument —and to add to that—to sing praises to our Lord and invite others to worship through God’s gift of music. I get goosebumps thinking about that gloriousness. Is that a word? Lol
