Psalm 111

Praise the LordI will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.

Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate. He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.

He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. They are established for ever and ever, enacted in faithfulness and uprightness. He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever — holy and awesome is his name.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Revelation 19: 4 – 6

The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried: “Amen, Hallelujah!”

Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!”

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.”

John 1: 29 – 34

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”

Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you: wherever he may send you;

may he guide you through the wilderness: protect you from the storm;

may he bring you home rejoicing: at the wonders he has shown you;

may he bring you home rejoicing: once again into our doors.

  1. Blessings to you and yours Kathi.

    I delight and rejoice in the fact that I can come here to SSB and find true Biblical fellowship of the saints on your Sunday morning gatherings. The pictures are amazing and a breath of fresh air to my soul.

    And this portion of the Scripture verse you posted, “the LORD is gracious and compassionate,” leaped off of the page as this is precisely what I needed to hear this morning. I am reassured through the Holy Scriptures you posted, of this eternal truth. Many of us who have been abused/wounded in the hierarchal oriented visible church institution need to be reassured of God’s great love for us, instead of reliving the garbage from the complementarian god of whom the Pharisees love and adore.

    And the song/hymn “It Is Well With My Soul” is absolutely wonderful! Thank-you for posting one of my favorite hymns so beautifully performed by a group of talented folks.

    What a BLESSING to my soul this Sunday morning! Jesus be PRAISED!

  2. Hi Katy! I’m so glad you find Sunday mornings helpful. We all have different ways to connect and it’s nice that this is one way for those who do not visit a church building.

    We are headed out for our weekly coffee and then I hope to get out and walk a nature trail at work. My way of re-grounding and getting ready for the week ahead. Take care and do something nice for yourself today!

  3. Good for you Kathi, “We are headed out for our weekly coffee and then I hope to get out and walk a nature trail at work. My way of re-grounding and getting ready for the week ahead.”

    Sounds like a life of worshipping Jesus, wherever you may be! Blessings on your good fellowship today with loved ones!
