Psalm 66
For the director of music. A song. A psalm.
Shout for joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious. Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. All the earth bows down to you, they sing praise to you, they sing the praises of your name.”
Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind! He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot — come, let us rejoice in him. He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations — let not the rebellious rise up against him.
Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.
I will come to your temple with burnt offerings and fulfill my vows to you — vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. I will sacrifice fat animals to you and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats.
Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!
Ephesians 2: 11 – 22
Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands) — remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Matthew 7: 28 – 8:4
When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you: wherever he may send you;
may he guide you through the wilderness: protect you from the storm;
may he bring you home rejoicing: at the wonders he has shown you;
may he bring you home rejoicing: once again into our doors.

Once again I am blessed and encouraged by this “church service!” I am sitting here in a Juvenile Detention Facility worshipping God before we wake up the girls. This is where I am sent! I love the blessing you include at the end of your post each week.

How is everyone doing?
I just ended week 10 of working from home. Our company will start sending U.S. employees back to headquarter locations mid-June and it will be phased. Everything is being cautiously guided by county, state, and CDC guidelines. I am thankful for the pre-cautions; it’s a huge undertaking given we are a global company. We have global teammates in China that have already been through this, so we’re following their example.
I keep hearing how some people are not as motivated to do certain tasks or hobbies as they were prior to quarantine. I’ve realized that hit me the last few weeks. Honestly, doing this Sunday post is about as much as I’ve felt I can do right now. Not because I don’t want to, but I’ll start one and not feel motivated to finish it. If I ever moved to where I am permanently working from home, there’s a lot I’d have to figure out for myself in regard to balance.
I have, however, found myself motivated in my knitting. I just finished the body of a sweater and am ready to move on to the arms. Because I’m usually a slow knitter, this would have taken me at least 6 months to a year to accomplish. But I’ve done it in 10 weeks. And, I’ve watched a fair number of shows too. There’s some really good stuff out there right now.

Been feeling very sad, Deeply disappointed and disillusioned upon learning about the fraudulent behaviour of Ravi Zacharias and the scandals of his celebrity in the recent years leading up to his death. His sister is the wife of my late father’s former work colleague. I was introduced to Ravi Zacharias through my parents. Brought up in a very straight-laced, legalistic home. Now as an adult I’m beginning to see the full-scale hypocrisy. And I mourn the wasted time of my life getting caught up with these frauds. It hurts and wounds more than I care to describe.
