The name “sounding board” resonated with me for many reasons. Although I do share some of my personal experiences on this blog, I didn’t want this blog to be about me, but to be a place where others can join in and learn from our shared experiences. We can use each other as sounding boards here. Read the definition. “Sounding board” is especially meaningful to me because I am a musician.

Sounding Board
1. Music a. A thin board forming the upper portion of the resonant chamber in an instrument, such as a violin or piano, and serving to increase resonance.
b. A structure placed behind or over a podium or platform to reflect music or a speaker’s voice to an audience. Also called soundboard.
2. A person or group whose reactions to an idea, opinion, or point of view serve as a measure of its effectiveness or acceptability.
3. A device or means serving to spread or popularize an idea or a point of view.

Hi Julie Anne,
I apologize for not making this comment on the appropriate part of your blog (because I don’t know much about where to make blog comments), but I just wanted to tell you that John Macarthur of Grace Community Church has stated that he saw the shed blood of MLK just hours after his killing. He also went into the very bathroom where James Earl Ray allegedly shot Martin Luther King. This is the lead article at http://www.thewatchmanwakes.com.

Oh I see now. So Julie Anne could have put it this way, “If Macarthur wants someone to believe him, couldn’t he find a more believable story?” I believe Macarthur is telling the truth. Also, it may be of interest to know that the man who Macarthur was with in Mississippi, John Perkins, has been invited to the White House by our current president.

The sad thing is that the FTC is an independent body, not responsive to the White House nor under its control. And I think the association is making a mistake by agreeing to such an onerous consent decree. I think they should have actually gone to the Justice Department or the White House with a campaign of letters, which, when publicity hit the fan, may have had an effect on the FTC STAFF, so that the commission would have reined the staff in.

Also contacting senators and congresspersons. BTW, the IDIOTIC reporter does not understand the difference by an administrative agency under the control of the President and an independent regulatory commission like the FTC which the President does not control.

Wow reading some of the posts here I don’t know how to respond. So much of what I read here is not Christian behavior!
I do not like the “gossip” and unsubstantiated allegations. Not biblical and not wise. I am NOT advocating “wife spanking” or any other abuse of women, men or any other human being.
Find a good quality church that follows scripture, United Reformed Churches of North America would be one I highly recommend.
If you are experiencing abuse leave that group, church, congregation. Approach other Christians outside that group, congregation, church for help if necesssary, I certainly would help any fellow Christian caught up in such nonsense and know my elders and Pastor would do like wise.
