Luke 24: 36 – 53
While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hands and feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”
When he said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence.
He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.
2 Timothy 2: 15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Kathi, thanks for another gathering although, apparently, it is so unbiblical and anti-Christian and heretical and WRONG to have these gatherings because then we are NOT in church tithing and whatnot, whatever and not under “authority” and total control. I am shivering of fear…not anymore.
John 4:21, “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.”

Such a rebel, Boston Lady. I would refer you to an elder in regard to your “attitude.” You’re in luck, we don’t have anyone with that role.
Does someone want to be our first SSB elder? We have people who need humbling attitude adjustments! 🙂

I nominate myself as SSB elder and I second that. And I accept the position unopposed, naturally. Now I need your bank account details, all three of them (yes, I have already looked). Oh, and I’ve noticed that you have partaken in communion and spoken with some men of high office and authority at the coffee table after the weekly indoctrination service. Did you have permission to do either, since you are someone being regarded as a causer of division? Naughty, naughty.
Okay, I’m serious about those banking details.

I believe there are elders already ‘at work’ on SSB without having been ‘ordained in every city’ by the first century apostle 😉
We know who is ministering to whom whether in public or behind the scenes.
God gives the gifts and often those who genuinely use them are too busy doing the work, to identify that they are being used in that way.
Iconically, it’s those with the titles who seem to fall desperately short in both gifting AND practical service.
Just my observations.

Yes, I get the icon thing, and isn’t that just sickening? The fruit of the Spirit disappears the minute a title appears. Every time, which makes me wonder…
