Psalm 46

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. Come and see the works of the Lord, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire.

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you: wherever he may send you;

may he guide you through the wilderness: protect you from the storm;

may he bring you home rejoicing: at the wonders he has shown you;

may he bring you home rejoicing: once again into our doors.

  1. This is an interesting comment thread. I was not sure what to think about it all until I read the comments in the links that Oasis posted. After reading the comments in those threads from two years ago, especially those from Mr. Burleson, it is easy for anyone to see Mr. Burleson actually believes the very opposite of what Oasis represents him to believe in this thread. I find this utterly strange.

    It could be because you are not seeing the cognitive dissonance in what he presents as his beliefs. And he is entitled to his beliefs and what he teaches. In the next thread it is discussed more in depth that might give you some insight into the results of those beliefs when taken to their logical conclusions. Maybe not.
