Merry Christmas Greetings

*     *     *

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.

Isaiah 9:6-7

As someone who has experienced harsh shepherding, these words foretelling the news of the Good Shepherd bring me great comfort.  I pray that this Christmas season we can focus on the true Shepherd of our souls and find rest and comfort in Him.

Many blessings to you, my SSB friends.  You mean so much to me.

  2. Merry Christmas! I am so happy you chose this song for your site. Usually it’s the Hallelujah Chorus that is showcased. This one is too often overlooked. A nice gift!

  3. Merry Christmas, everyone!
    Love the choir song. I know the Hallelujah Chorus is often predominant. A few years ago this vid made the rounds, and gave me a new appreciation for it.

  5. Twas the Night Before Christmas–that turned into Christmas Day–one day so long ago. We rejoice in that marvellous event. We still ponder in amazement, as God’s wee children, of that momentous coming–of a Baby! A Baby so small and so vulnerable. The ways of God–they are past finding out.

    All the best as the grandeur of God’s Kingdom breaking in continues amaze us and to happen in each of our lives!
