Wishing A Very Happy Thanksgiving to SSB readers!
I’m so thankful for all the kindness and support you’ve shown me and the other participants here. For some, it is life changing.
Thank you!
I found a little something to share:

For this reason,
ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus
and your love for all the saints,
I have not stopped giving thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers.
Ephesians 1:15-16

Same here. In fact, just a few hours ago I was catching up on some recent threads and marveling at the amazing love being shown to so many devastated people who shared their pain. I almost said something at the time, but instead I will just echo your thanks here: Thank you, Julie Anne and others, for reaching out to these hurting people with such love and support, the same kind that was also shown to me!
Many things appear here that are very triggering for me, sometimes hard to read. But the kindness and support (among other things) is incredible and makes me so happy! So glad this blog exists.

Julie Anne, today I am giving thanks for you, particularly your wise openness and kind sturdy heart.
And I’ll keep in mind all those people whose families aren’t functioning: if their children won’t come, if their parents are critical and demeaning, if their spouse is cold and demanding, if they are in despair or dealing with flashbacks, or if they are simply alone and baking a chicken and watching a movie. To all of you beautiful people, I wish you peace today, plus a surprise package of joy.

Happy Thanksgiving to all…….
Loved the video for it shows how this man was willing to give up his lucrative career (unlike our megachurch celebrities) to serve those less fortunate. He did it for no recognition either.

I loved that video, too. What an inspiration!
Happy Thanksgiving to all. The holidays can sometimes be difficult for those recovering from spiritual abuse. I pray God’s peace for all.
We usually start listening to Christmas music on Thanksgiving. My husband surprised me this morning with the PTX Christmas album. (I’m a Pentaholic.) I just have to share one of my favorites.

The Happiest of Thanksgivings Julie Anne and all. The video was amazing. Thank you for posting it. We have a brand new granddaughter born November 17, on my husband’s birthday. We are so thankful as my daughter lost their baby due to miscarriage last year. He was a boy. So we are so thankful for this precious little girl, born a little early, but welcomed and healthy.

What a husband you have! I am also a Pentaholic – love it. Those human instruments are phenomenal. Feel free to spam good music on my wall a.n.y.t.i.m.e.
Debbie Kaufman – – Congratualtions on the new addition in your family after such a trial. I imagine that baby will not spend any time alone today with so many loving arms to hold her. How fun!

I have to ask…whats a Pentaholic?

I’m not sure if BTDT made it up, but I take it to mean someone who likes the vocal a cappella group Pentatonix just a little too much – maybe even to a point of being addicted to them 🙂
Lynette – -click on BTDT’s video. It is amazing sound from human instruments.

Julie Anne,
I wish I could take credit for the term, 🙂 but I picked it up somewhere when reading about the group. It’s been widely used on the web to refer to Pentatonix fans.
I’ve always liked a cappella music. Pentatonix takes it to a new enjoyment.

They really are superb – the blend is amazing – they love what they are doing. I love the new emphasis on singing (The Voice, Sing Off, etc). It is now very cool to be in choir. Woohoo – choir nerds unite!

My daughter loves Pentatonix and likes to play them loudly. I apologize, but they are not my favorite. I usually ask her to put on headphones after listening to two or three of their songs. I am glad that people like them, though. I do not deny that they are very talented.

Thank you all for the post and comments. I am thankful for my relationship with all of you through this blog, and especially Julie Anne, who has proved that she has the mettle to stand up to abuse and defeat it. Her story should be an encouragement to all who experience spiritual abuse as they escape and attempt to recover.

I too am grateful for SSB and the kindness, compassion and empathy that I have found here. This community gives me hope that the Body of Christ will endure–not organized religion–but that living, breathing vital organism that binds us together. Thank you all for defending the weak and allowing your hearts to beat with His in terms of justice and mercy.
I wrote my thoughts on gratitude when life breaks apart over on A Solitary Journey. Have a wonderful day, regardless of who you are celebrating with or not. We are alive and that is very, very good.

Ruh roh. I feel like I got in trouble. Did I strike a chord? Guess I need to face the music and change my tune.

I’ve been trying to improvise a response, but it seems to be falling flat. Despite that particular clash of dissonance, we are resolved in so many other facets – like a melodic refrain.

2 staffs cleft into a bar. The treble with the first is that he was high and walked straight up into the soprano and landed sharp on his coda. The bass fell into a temporal abafando and landed flat on the rocks.
The moral of the story is …music is amoral 😉
Question- How many notes can fit in a bar?
